Stability analysis of earth slopes in general involves determining the minimum factor of safety (FS) associated with the most critical failure surface. This objective is too challenging to accomplish considering the broad diversity of slope problems in geometry, geotechnical parameters of the soil, location of the groundwater table, and condition of the external loadings.
