This paper reports on the research carried out with trainees of an initial training institution. Its main objective was to understand the representations some future teachers have about the contribution of teacher training for the construction of an identity of the profession. This identity can be determined by the teacher’s work, by it peers and also by the work which is inherent to the profession: supervision. As such we have started from the question: What is the vision trainees/future teachers have regarding the teaching practices developed in an initial teacher training institution?
