Maximum satisfiability (MaxSAT) is a viable approach to solving NP-hard optimization problems. In the realm of core-guided MaxSAT solving - one of the most effective MaxSAT solving paradigms today - algorithmic variants employing so-called soft cardinality constraints have proven very effective.
