The main aim of the research was to persist the gastric residence time of vildagliptin by designing its gastro-retentive tablet as well as to study the effect of different polymers on its release rate using 23 randomized full factorial designs. Tablets are manufactured by direct compression method. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose was used as matrixing agent, M.C.C., and Na2Co3 were used.
