Oral delivery of drugs is by far the most preferable route of drug delivery. This route has high patient acceptability, primarily due to ease of administration. Effective oral drug delivery depend upon the factors such as gastric emptying process, gastrointestinal transit time of the dosage form ,drug release from the dosage form, and site of absorption of drug. In the recent years, scientific and technological advancement have been made in the research and development of gastroretentive drug delivery system.
