Positive family history of CRC among first-degree relatives (FDRs) is consistently identified as one of the most important risk factors for developing the disease. Colonoscopy is the best screening choice for persons at increased risk as it offers prevention by removal of pre-neoplastic lesions rather than early detection. Nevertheless, the screening rates of colonoscopy among FDRs in CRC patients is low.
