Mountain ecosystems and women: Opportunities for sustainable development and conservation

This paper provides an overview of mountain environmental problems and the role of women in conserving the mountain resource base. There is a remarkable convergence of policy objectives between the themes of sustainable development, environmental conservation, and the advancement of women. These issues are discussed and constraints and opportunities are enumerated.
