This paper focuses on the flouting of conversational maxim in one of traditional markets in Indonesia. However, it will more focus on the types of flouted maxims, and whether or not the flouted maxims cause misundestanding between the seller and the buyer in the trade interactions. The writer, in this paper, choose tje traditional market named Merjosari, which is located in Malang, East Java. Why the writers conduct the observation in this traditional market, is because this traditional market has a very strategic place, where is sorrounded by many state or even private universities.
