Despite a rapid growth in Solar Home Systems (SHS) dissemination, the distribution has not been even and is skewed mostly to the better-off segment of the rural poor to whom the solution has been affordable. For the solution to become affordable to the poorer segment of rural population in a sustainable way, long-term credits have to be available in large scale.
