Due to past civil conflict, the northern part of Uganda had a lagging economy. The agriculture production in this area was limited and farmers mainly cultivate groundnuts, onions, cassava, beans, sorghum and vegetables. So, the National Agriculture Advisory Services (NAADS) collaborating with other NGOs started to strengthen farmer institutions by advising farmers and introducing technologies to develop market linkage.
