As most of the knowledge about System of Rice Intensification (SRI) is quite recent, much research is still needed to understand the ecological processes involved and to develop a variety of best practices. More insight is also needed in the applicability and limitations of the approach and the possible risks involved. The initial results are, however, mostly very positive and give reason to suggest that more countries and more farmers should have an opportunity to evaluate SRI for themselves
