Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) was first recognised in 1981. Strictly speaking, the term AIDS refers only to the last stage of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection. Within a short span of time, AIDS spread rapidly and currently affected individuals in over 168 countries on all the continents of the world. In Nepal, as elsewhere, the AIDS problem is growing
