This study aims to analyze the role and impact of psychological aspects of quality of life in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) on the disease course.We have recruited 61 patients (39 women and 22 men aged 18–60 years) diagnosed with UC (according to the requirements of the Helsinki Declaration of 1975). Study participants were divided into two groups. Group 1 included 32 patients with a slowly progressing disease. Group 2 comprised 29 patients with frequent UC relapses and rapid development of complications.
