Glyphosate is the most widely used herbicide worldwide. It is a non-selective, systemic, post-emergence herbicide that controls more weed species than any other. Its extensively use have been led to the contamination of both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, becoming a huge environmental concern worldwide. Bioremediation using glyphosate-degrading microorganisms could be a promising approach to overcome the risks associated to the accumulation of this herbicide in the environment.
