L’antica città di Ostia ha restituito la più ingente quantità di mitrei in ambito urbano che il mondo romano conosca. Nonostante la città sia sconosciuta nella sua interezza, ogni quartiere ad oggi noto conserva luoghi di culto dedicati al dio Mitra.
