: Advising Pupils about School Options and Careers in England

International audienceIn England, concern about efficiency and good access to jobs, careers advice has been through successive reforms such as privatizing the public networks of careers advice, then in 2001, creating outside schools a service called Connexions. Based on partnership and playing the role of a personal advisor to young people, it offers to any of them a set of services and advice. However the problem is that not all young people make use of it and many of the partners do not share information. Will school play a role again in advising young people on their careers?En Angleterre, dans un souci d'efficacité et d'accès à l'emploi, l'orientation a fait l'objet de réformes successives : privatisation des réseaux publics d'orientation, puis en 2001 création, en dehors des écoles, d'un service appelé Connexions. Fondé sur le partenariat et la fonction de conseiller personnel auprès du jeune, non limité à l'orientation, il propose à chaque jeune un ensemble de services et de conseil. Cependant, il se heurte encore à une participation inégale des jeunes et au cloisonnement entre partenaires. L'école sera-t-elle appelée à jouer à nouveau un rôle dans l'orientation des jeunes
