Under det senaste decenniet har användandet av smarta mobiltelefoner ökat med 73%. Det ökade användandet har förändrat journalistiken, och allt fler journalister använder idag mobiltelefonen som ett arbetsverktyg. Begreppet Mobil Journalistik är sprunget ur detta skifte i arbetssätt, och innebär att journalister använder mobiltelefonen som ett verktyg för att samla in, bearbeta, producera och publicera nyheter från fält.
