Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a frequent and serious complication of cardiac surgery. This study was designed to establish a scoring system, calculated in the immediate postoperative period, to assess the risk of CKD at 1 yr in patients undergoing cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass. Methods: We conducted a cohort study including patients with preoperative estimated glomerular filtration rate above 60 ml min-1 (1.73 m)-2 who underwent cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass.
