Since the 1990s, Corporate Social Responsibility reports have become central in businesses' drive to increase transparency and consumer trust. CSR strategies are constantly evolving to adapt to public scrutiny and awareness. As such, CSR reports are important persuasive tools for banks. French- and English-language reports display varying cultural conventions, affecting everything from tone, structure, themes, and non-textual elements. Through the lens of Christiane Nord's functionalist theory, this study compares and contrasts the main cultural conventions contained in these reports, in the aim of determining which English translations successfully adapted target-culture conventions.
