The writer proposes to determine those predominant theories that are reflected in George Eliot\u27s novels and support with evidence that they reflect her life and her time. It is further hoped that by pointing out the prevailing theories that are reflected in Eliot\u27s novels there will be a clarification of the variations and embellishments which have been established concerning the private life of the great authoress.
