While the instances of tin and lead poisoning with canned foods as the sources are few, this study seemed necessary to determine at least the extent of corrosion of tin containers by certain foods. This paper represents only a part of the investigation as originally plan, as the original procedure called for an examination of the fresh foods for tin and lead. In this part of the investigation only certain canned products were examined. The investigation was carried out also to establish, as far as possible, a suitable method by which these metals might be determined in plant and animal tissues
