The progress of Negro Land-Grant Colleges in Mississippi, Missouri, West Virginia and Texas has perhaps been over-looked by many. Useless to say that such a subject is of great importance, for the writer believes that an interesting and imposing volume could be written on the progress of the colleges of these states. It is the specific intention of this thesis to indicate in certain definite ways the progress that has been made by land-grant colleges of the above named states.
