This work is of a research nature. The author set herself the goal of analyzing the original text of the novel by Charles Dickens for the purpose of studying the author\u27s techniques for the embodiment of irony and sarcasm in this work. The author expresses the assumption (hypothesis) that the mechanisms of transmission of irony in the novel are much more diverse than the dictionary interpretation of the trope irony suggests, and aims to show that this circumstance enhances the emotional impact on the reader of the book.
