The article presents the results of a study of the degree of correlation between morphobiological and economically valuable traits in F1 species and hybrids of tetroploid species, intraspecific diversity of G.hirsutum L. and G.barbadense L., G.mustelinum Miers ex Watt, as well as in the species G.darwinii Watt obtained on the basis of their mutual hybridization. It is emphasized that when choosing a primary source for breeding work, an important place is occupied not only by taking into account the average indicators of economically valuable traits, but also determining the degree and nature of the correlation between them
