LA CIENCIA POLÍTICA Y LOS ESTUDIOS SOBRE SEGURIDAD Y DEFENSA. PRECISIONES Y PROYECCIONES

This article focus on political science as a matter of study in the programs of the National Academy for Political and Strategic Studies, in order to explain the reason of including this discipline, particularly in its relation with security and defense. It is focused on the object of study of political science, thus delivering precisions about the concept of politics among others related. It also emphasizes some aspects that have been important in this discipline, including some modern epistemological debates, and also open the scope of possibilities that today can be offered as matters of study in a world yielded to the dynamics of the globalization. El artículo trata sobre la ciencia política como materia de estudio en los programas de la Academia Nacional de Estudios Políticos y Estratégicos con el fin de explicar el sentido de la incorporación de esta disciplina particularmente en su relación con la seguridad y la defensa. Se refiere al objeto de estudio de la ciencia política entregando precisiones acerca del concepto de política y otros relacionados. Desarrolla aspectos destacables de lo que ha sido el devenir de esta disciplina incluyendo algunos debates epistemológicos contemporáneos; finalmente, abre el abanico de posibilidades que hoy día se ofrecen como posibles temáticas de estudio en un mundo sometido a la dinámica del proceso de globalización.
