Background & aim: Women and men with diabetes, type 1 (T1D) and type 2 (T2D) develop complications in small and large blood vessels as well as in nerve pathways over time. In men, erectile dysfunction is a well-documented complication. However, sexual dysfunction in women with different types of diabetes is less studied. Sexual dysfunction is associated with lowered health-related quality of life and depression.
