This essay presents physical education teacher students´ stories about encounters with friluftsliv. The purpose of the essay is to study in what way the students' own experiences and learning of friluftsliv influence their encounters with friluftsliv during the Physical Education teaching education and in their future workplace. The method I use is narrative in the form of a student story which is based on written individual stories. An interview with two teachers in friluftsliv at the teacher education is also added to the student story. I analyse the material using the theory of the good enough strangeness by Thomas Ziehe.
