Retention strategies, cost-effectiveness and long-term stability oftreatment outcome are essential aspects of orthodontic treatmentplanning.The overall aim of this thesis was to compare and evaluate threedifferent retention strategies, with special reference to short- andlong-term clinical stability and cost-effectiveness.
