Y a-t-il une continuité entre par préfixe et par préposition ? L'exemple de parcourir

The aim of this paper is to make sure whether there is a relation of continuity among the different uses of the French form par in language. On the one hand, in word formation, as a prefix and on the other hand as the head of the prepositional phrase. In other terms, shall we treat par as a polysemic item or as a homonymous form? We're studying the case of parcourir from the compositional point of view. In a previous research, we've showed that the French preposition par has a semantic invariance: notion of "intermediary", taken "integrally". We're using the same approach with the verbal root courir. Furthermore, we're resorting, in our study, to semantic properties such as "essential intrinsic or extrinsic properties" to reveal why some word formations are impossible in language (i.e. *parmarcher, *parerrer etc.)
