The potential of digital health education for self-management lacks a comprehensive understanding in the literature. To address this challenge, we conduct a systematic review of studies on health IT, health informatics, and health education. Integrating Stimulus-Response mechanisms in Skinner\u27s reinforcement theory with Stages of Changes in the Transtheoretical Model, we propose a conceptual framework to accommodate and classify research in digital health education for self-management: the delivery method and content of digital health education, and their impacts on selfmanagement process and effectiveness on health outcomes.
