Background/Aims Meta-analyses of randomized trials reported a non-significant increase in overall mortality risk after Helicobacter pylori eradication. In this study, we investigated whether H. pylori treatment is associated with increased risk of overall mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods In this retrospective population-based cohort study, we identified 66,706 patients treated for type 2 diabetes between 2002 and 2010 from the Korean National Health Insurance Service-National Sample Cohort.
