The purpose of this study was to contribute with more knowledge about and, if so, how children aged 6-7 years can achieve understanding of scientific phenomena when their imagination and natural theatrical play are used in teaching. The study was conducted through the methods of action research and qualitative interview, which gave the researcher the opportunity to test ideas and thoughts directly in the school environment. The intervention consisted of a pedagogical activity designed as a combination of narrative structure and process drama as well as a couple of experiments around the phenomenon of sound. The intervention and the interviews were recorded with audio and video, which gave rise to concrete, clear and detailed data material. ...
