Investigation of antioxidant concent of some crataegus taxa naturally distributed in Afyonkarahisar

Bu araştırmada, Afyonkarahisar’da doğal olarak yayılış gösteren bazı Crataegus taksonlarının teşhisleri ve antioksidan içeriklerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma alanı Davis’in kareleme sistemine göre B3 karesinde bulunmaktadır. Çalışma alanı az yağışlı soğuk Akdeniz biyoiklimine sahip olup Doğu Akdeniz Tipi yağış rejimi görülür. Çalışma alanında Kolüvyal, Kireçsiz Orman, Kahverengi Orman ve Kahverengi büyük toprak grupları bulunmaktadır. Çalışma alanı içindeki Crataegus cinsine ait üç tür iki alttür teşhis edilmiş olup bunlar; C. microphylla, C. monogyna, C. orientalis subsp. orientalis, C. orientalis subsp. szovitsii, C. tanacetifolia’dır. Araştırmada tespit edilen bu türlerin olgunlaşmış meyvelerinin antioksidan içerikleri belirlenmiştir. Toplanan örnekler ilk olarak ekstraksiyon metoduna göre hazırlanmış olup; fenolik bileşikler DPPH yöntemi, karotenoid bileşikler Folin-Ciocalteu yöntemiyle ve antioksidan kapasiteleri ise HPLC ile incelenmiştir. Gallik asit 30.32 mg g-1 ve 1,2-Dihydroxybenzene 178.63 mg g-1 olup en fazla C. orientalis subsp. szovitsii türünde; (+)-kateşin miktarı 163.08 mg g-1 olup en yüksek C. monogyna türünde tespit edilmiştir. Türler arasında en düşük miktara sahip olan bileşik naringenindir. Antioksidan aktivite tayinleri 517 nm’de ölçümü yapılan alıç meyvelerinde en yüksek değer C. monogyna’da ~ 0.257 mg g-1; toplam fenolik tayinleri 765 nm’de en yüksek C. microphylla ~ 0.682 mg g-1; toplam karotenoid miktarı 450 nm’de en yüksek C. orientalis subsp. orientalis olup ~ 0.698 mg g-1 olarak tespit edilmiştir.In this research, it was aimed to identify some Crataegus taxa naturally distributed in Afyonkarahisar and to determine their antioxidant content. The study area is located in the B3 square according to Davis' grid system. The study area has a cold Mediterranean bioclimate with little precipitation and an Eastern Mediterranean type precipitation regime is observed. There are Colluvial, Limeless Forest, Brown Forest and Brown large soil groups in the study area. Three species and two subspecies belonging to the genus Crataegus in the study area were identified; C. microphylla, C. monogyna, C. orientalis subsp. orientalis, C. orientalis subsp. szovitsii, C. tanacetifolia. The antioxidant contents of the ripe fruits of these species detected in the study were determined. The collected samples were first prepared according to the extraction method; phenolic compounds were investigated by DPPH method, carotenoid compounds by Folin-Ciocalteu method and their antioxidant capacities were investigated by HPLC. Gallic acid is 30.32 mg g-1 and 1,2-Dihydroxybenzene is 178.63 mg g-1, mostly C. orientalis subsp. szovitsii species; the amount of (+)-catechin was 163.08 mg g-1 and the highest was detected in C. monogyna species. The compound with the lowest amount among the species is naringenin. Antioxidant activity determinations were measured at 517 nm, the highest value in hawthorn fruits was ~ 0.257 mg g-1 in C. monogyna; total phenolic determinations were highest at 765 nm in C. microphylla ~ 0.682 mg g-1; total carotenoid content is highest at 450 nm C. orientalis subsp. orientalis was determined as ~ 0.698 mg g-1
