Evolución sedimentaria reciente de dos sistemas turbidíticos del área de Motril (NE Alborán). Parte I: sistema turbidítico de Calahonda

V Congreso Geológico de España, 10-14 julio 2000, Alicante.-- 4 pages, 2 figures[EN] The morphology, the sedimentary architecture and the recent sedimentary evolution of the Calahonda Turbidite System has been established trough the analysis of ultra-high resolution seismic profiles (TOPAS) and swath bathymetry (EM-12). This turbidite system, which is classified as a "delta-fed ramp system", is active only during the Quaternary. The youngest architectural elements of this turbidite system, ten channel-levee complexes with small straight channels drawing an overall convergent drainage pattern, are is fed by four small canyons (VI, V2, V3 and V4) and several small gullies which erodes the front of the shelf-deltas. Channel-levee complexes are constituted by channel-fill deposits, overbank deposits, lens bodies, and drape deposits. Three phases has been established in the recent sedimentary evolution of the Calahonda Turbidite System: (1) Widespread erosion and generation of sandy lens bodies; (2) Agradation of channel-levee complexes; (3) Formation of a muddy drape level covering every channel and every levee. Provided that the canyons and gullies are not deeply incised on the shelf, sea-level rises and highstands produces the simultaneous stop of channelized gravity flows in every channel-levee complex and the onset of muddy unchannelized turbidity flows and hemipelagic sedimentation[ES] El Sistema Turbidítico de Calahonda se forma, junto con los sistema turbidíticos de Sacratif y Motril, en el Area de Motril (NE del Mar de Alborán). Estos sistemas deposicionales clásticos desarrollan una importante varia­bilidad en su arquitectura estratigráfica que posibilita la identificación de tres modelos de sistemas turbidíticos en sólo 30 km de margen (Fig. 1 en Pérez-Belzuz et al., 2000).
