For this purpose, 210Pb, 137Cs and, to a lesser extent, 239,240Pu and heavy metals, were determined in sediment sections using state-of-the-art techniques. 210Pb concentration profiles and 137Cs, 239,240Pu and heavy metals profile features were used to establish the sediment chronologies.
