Due to global growth, the worldwide demand for raw materials is steadily increasing. In the past, efficiency gains could be gained through the mechanization of mining. Today, automation and digitization are being focussed. A fundamental condition for increasing the level of automation in mining is the collection and monitoring of process information. This is the only way to ensure that the machines are optimally utilized without being exposed to excessive wear due to high loads.
