This essay will firstly seek to provide a brief overview of the Italian scholars who were committed to the study of Ethnography and Anthropology in Russia from the second half of the 19th century onwards. It will then examine the works of Russian researchers, folklorists and ethnologists translated and published in Italy. From the Ukrainian culture and language standpoint, with respect to Italian Anthropology, more information is taken from Slavic studies, which will be discussed in the second part of this paper. Finally, special emphasis will be placed on those communities of Ukrainian emigrants who highly contributed to the spread of Ukrainian studies overseas
