Propositional condensations represent an effective manner of concise expression within a phrase. In the French language, a construction formed with infinitive and preposition can fulfil this function. This paper aims to analyse one of these constructions: the construction après + perfect infinitive; especially its functioning in French and its possible respondents in Czech. Given the possibility of propositional condensation, the construction is expected to appear more frequently in texts containing narrative sequences, particularly in fiction or journalism.
