Political Vison of Václav Havel During His Czechoslovak Presidency, 1990-92

This bachelor thesis explores opinions of Václav Havel on Czech-Slovak question inside of the Common state. It analyses to his views on important international questions and issues of integration of Czechoslovakia inside Europe and eventually his views on the course of economic transformation in the period 1990-92. The goal of this thesis is to outline the political vision of Václav Havel for the above issues through scholarly publications, but especially via his own texts and speeches and the periodical radio broadcast Hovory v Lánech. The Czech-Slovak question proved to be one of the most important for functioning of Common state. This question occupied Havel's attention in domestic politics and its unsuccessful solution finally became the reason for his abdication as president. The fame of the first post - communist president in international scene was indeed unexpected and the international relationships were Havel's domain, in which many of his visions became reality. Economic transformation was an important aspect in the transition of Czechoslovakia to a democratic system with a market economy and as such Havel could not forget to reflect it
