Martina Havlová Title: Physiotherapeutic possibilities of alteration of respiratory mechanism of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and physiotherapeutic possibilities of influencing the mechanics of respiration in patients with this diagnosis. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a progressive disease of the airways, and physiotherapy may play an important role in slowing the progression and improving the quality of life in people with this diagnosis. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis describes chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and elements of pulmonary rehabilitation, the attention is focused mainly on the procedures of respiratory physiotherapy. The practical part is devoted to the work with a patient hospitalized at the 1st Department of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, who was admitted after prolonged exacerbations in order to improve the condition for the possibility of performing bronchoscopic volume reduction.
