Phenomen of modern graffiti

The topic of work is a phenomenon of modern graffiti and its gradual development to the present form. The aim of the text is theoretically describe the basic principles of the graffiti in the context of its historical development and clarify the way 'from the periphery to the centre'. Work begins with the emergence of graffiti in the 60's and gradually are developed its most important phase to the actual inclusion of graffiti in contemporary art and the related commercialisation of the phenomenon. The first part of the text deals with the form of graffiti, which becomes an expression of opposition to the current situation in society and is used in particular street gangs to their own territories and borders as a form of protest against the existing culture. Gradually, the work deals with the subculture form of graffiti - diversion from the purely kontrakulturní form, starting artistic trends and the functioning crew. Furthermore, the focus on the use of graffiti subculture and its subsequent exploitation of the cultural industry to achieve a profit, which it makes the product of mass production and factory lifestyle. In the last part deals with the integration of graffiti (and street art) in contemporary art
