Bookbinding databases

The aim of this thesis is to analyze and compare bookbinding databases, such as Einbanddatenbank, ProBok, databases of the Bavarian State Library, University and City Library of Cologne and others, including several projects thematically focused on provenance research. First, the thesis will introduce the topic of historical bookbindings and provenance marks in general, and then compare individual databases, which will focus on their content, operating institutions or technical solutions as well as the relevance of these databases to Bohemian bookbindings research. A comparative analysis of individual projects based on checklist will be the method used for the practical part of the thesis. Keywords Databases, provenance, bookbinding, collections, digitization
