Active defence of drones from birds

This bachelor thesis focuses on the protection of drones from birds. The aim of the work was to develop a protection proposal that will be applicable to an ordinary drone at an affordable price, since there is no currently available commercial solution that would be able to do so. The sensory ecology of birds was investigated in the thesis and the deterrents of control of their adverse effects as well. Based on the effectiveness of all the deterrents and knowledge from the ecology of birds, a proposal for the protection of drones was introduced. The proposed protection combines visual, audio and mechanical protection and, aside from direct protection of the drone, it can also repel birds away. This would lead to a reduction of the risk of collisions and therefore provides protection for birds. Plastic construction protecting the sensitive parts of the drone is designed as mechanical protection, while a holographic tape and a siren are used to repel the birds away
