Detection of acoustic vibrations using optical fibers

This bachelor thesis examines the possibilities of utilization optical fiber acoustic sensors. Introduction part describes the basic principles of signal transmission in optical fiber and the interaction of acoustic waves with optical fiber. Operational principles of different types of optical fiber acoustic sensors are explained further in the text.The fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer is described in detail in this work. The work is focused on the possibilities of utilization single point and distributed optical fiber acoustic sensors.
