National audienceResearch works presented in this article are dedicated to the tutor instrumentation in distance collaborative learning situations. We develop an on-line tutoring model to identify tutor's role among the other actors, his/her degrees of freedom and means which he/she has at his/her disposal during the course. We lean on this model to develop, in an iterative process, a generic assistance system for tutor. This system is based on an ontology modelling the tutoring components (actors, their characteristics, activities, their parameters and resources).
