Standards of Modern education in the light of Educational Services of sir Syed Ahmad khan

Sir Sayyad Ahmad Khan was one of the most prominent personalities of the Muslim era who devoted his life to the cause of nation building and edification of the people of the sub-continent. The time of Sir Sayyad Ahmad Khan was a very troubled era for the Muslims dwelling in the sub-continent. He left no stone unturned in his endeavor for the preservation and spread of education. He made it the sole aim of his life and hence devoted it completely towards that end.He thought it better for the Muslims to tackle the situation through education and cooperation. He emphasized the importance of modern education, especially English Studies, for the Muslims. In this connection he took practical steps by founding the Aligarh College and starting the movements like the All India Mohammadan Educational Conference. He also used his writings to develop the Muslim consciousness by producing works like Tahzib al Akhlaq, Asbab Baghawat-e-Hind, etc. Through his writings he also attempted to bridge the gulf between the Muslims and their British rulers. These institutions, societies, and writings awoke the Muslim consciousness and brought them back to a cultural vitality by giving them a hope of freedom. These institutions set up by Sir Syed later produced such figures who played a leading role in the Pakistan Movement and finally got independence from the British rule.This article aims at discussing that struggle and particularly the steps taken by Sir Sayyad Ahmad Khan in his struggle to cause of nation building and edification of the people of the subcontinent
