The papers examines the role of non state actors in the promotion of human security in Macedonia during the migrant crisis of 2015-2016. It examines the concept of human security of migrants and refugees linking the maritime space with the terrestrial space. Furtheremore, it examines two specific situations of promotion of human security of non state actors in relation to their activity for promoting legislative amendments to the Law on asylum and temporary protection in Macedonia, and their denunciations of the illegal detention of migrants in the Reception center for foreigners 'Gazi Baba' in Skopje
