This qualitative study explores the experiences of parenting a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. This study consisted of eight parents sharing their experiences, including daily challenges, adjusting to the life of parenting a child with ASD, their support and coping strategies. The study also explores the parents’ reactions to their child’s diagnosis and their perception of their partner's reaction. A thematic analysis of the data identified five core themes: ‘Shock, Denial, Disbelief’: Initial response to diagnosis, The Learning Curve, The ASD Journey, and Minding Yourself as a Parent of a Child with ASD. The findings revealed many challenges faced by parents, including the lack of support which caused them tremendous stress....
