RoPax ferries are special purpose vessels used to transport both passengers and vehicles. A trend of higher emphasis on passenger comfort and crew working conditions makes an accurate prediction of vibration levels an important design task. The combination of passenger spaces and the lack of stiffness in the large open spaces in the car decks makes RoPax ferries a unique design challenge for global vibration analysis. The aim of this thesis is to find a correlation between propeller-induced vibration velocity and the longitudinal distance from the propeller.
