Främmande arter - människor eller växter?: En idéanalytisk studie kring Nordiska motståndsrörelsens miljöpolitik

Environmental politics and climate change are often associated with political groups that are a part of the left-wing. This study examines an exception from this; The Nordic Resistance Movement (NMR), which is the biggest Swedish Nazi group who have a strong emphasis of environmental issues. In their party programme and podcast NMR express that they want to create a society in harmony with nature and emphasize that natural resources should be used with the future in mind. At the same time, they have a fundamentally racist view on society and argues that humans consist of different races that should live apart from each other. This study aimes to examine the Nordic resistance movements environmental politics by studying their views on the relationship between human, animal and nature; how the view on humans influences their environmental politics and which environmental ethical theories and how ekofascism can be used to frame the environmental discourse of NMR. These questions have been answered from an environmental ethic perspective and analysed through Lindbergs qualitative analysis of ideas and ideological content where ideas and triades of ideas have been defined. The result shows that the relationship between human, animal and nature is based on the idea that the human is an animal and therefore a part of nature. The nature should be taken care of for its own sake, and therefore humans should let nature thrive without interference. NMR also expresses that the current system (described in the terms of liberal, capitalist and democratic) should be held responsible for the exploitation and commercialisation of nature. The movement's view on humans is combined with the environmental politics when the racial ideology also is illustrated when plants- and animal species are discussed in the same way as “human races”, where NMR express that “human races” also should be a part of biological diversity. The environmental ethical theories that have been identified in the material is deepecology and ecocentrism because NMR presents the idea that the nature has a value on its own. The ecofascist ideas can be seen when the ecological entirety is prioritised before living individuals. The previous research on this topic does not include different environmental ethic perspectives or the influence from racial ideology on environmental politics
